Many players often wonder if they played a hand properly and for players on PI to comment, we really need to be able to see the hand history. If you are unfamiliar with this concept, every poker site you play on stores hand histories in a folder on your computer (usually as a sub folder within the program folder for your poker site). If you are interested in having a few people comment on your play, feel free to post the hand history here, either converted or non converted. Apparently I can't post a link for a hand convertor, but simply do a search on the internet for "poker hand history convertor" or something similar and you should find a suitable one. Please do not flood this with bad beats, the purpose is to analyze your play and help you develop your game. Post anything you want, but I will monitor it and if there is a flood of bad beats appearing, I will refrain from analyzing those that were simply unlucky. Hope to see a few of you post some things.

Apparently everyone on here is having little or no difficulty in their play, lol. Just to get things started, I'll post a history and explain it. Just a note, you can use a hand history convertor, or try to put in as much info as you can on your own. $50 No Limit........Betmost Poker Hero: $40.32 Villain: $21.72 Dealt to the Hero: Kc Ks (we are the hero) Hero raise UTG+1 to $2 (please explain your position relative to the blinds) Villain calls $2 (Villain would be your opponent, or opponents: Villain2, Villain3, whatever you like) Dealing flop: 2c 4c 8h Hero bets $3, Villain calls $3 (make sure to show the action as it plays out, if they checked first, or you did etc.) Turn: 9c Hero checks, Villain checks (once you get to a point you are unsure of, ask the question) Do I believe he chased a flush, or should I be betting out here? River: 2h Hero checks, Villain bets all in $16.72, Hero calls $16.72 What do I do when he goes all in? Do I really think he has the flush? Hero shows KK (Two pair Ks and 2s), Villain mucks (he had 35 offsuit) Hero takes down the pot. Feel free to end your history with any other questions that you have.

Now all readers have a chance to put their two cents into how the hand played out. For the person posting the hand history, feel free to include any stats you have on their PF raise aggression, calling percentage etc. if you use PokerOffice, PokerTracker or similar software in your moment by moment telling of how the hand played out. My response to the questions would be as follows: 1) In this position I would be raising when the 3rd club came. Even if he hit the flush, we still hold the K of clubs and may be in line for a suckout on the river. If he reraises, I would just call.......if he shoves the turn here, I would probably also call. A shove is less frigthening than a standard raise, because there is no real reason for him to push me out of the hand if he hit his flush. 2) When he shoves the river here into my check, I really have no reason to believe that he hit the flush on the turn, or holds a 2. This sort of overbet would only push a weaker hand out of the pot and if he has a monster or sucked out on me, most players will put out a small bet to try and entice a call. That being said, I won't be folding to a small bet here if he chooses to make one. I need to see what type of hands he plays for raises and the 2 on the river may have counterfeited his hand if he called with junk and hit two pair. The check on the turn and river gives him an opportunity to make a play at the pot via a bluff, so I would call for that reason as well.
My actual thought process didn't involve either of those questions, and was as follows: 1) The third club on the turn is a bit of a scare card, but holding the K of clubs makes me feel a little more confident so I'm not all that worried about a flush. I check here to try and show some weakness, that I had a small pair, or some sort of big Ax combo that missed. 2) The river card of a 2 is actually a good card for me. If my opponent called with rags and flopped two pair, I just counterfeited him. I check the river, because if he actually did miss on the turn, which I suspect he did, I am not going to get any more money out of him if I lead out. My only choice is to check again and pray he makes some sort of raise that I can reraise him all in. I get lucky and he shoves into my check. Some people might think he has the flush, or hit the two, but a shove of that size doesn't make any sense given the way the hand played out. I raised preflop, raised the flop and then checked both the turn and river. If my opponent has any sense at all, he should recognize weakness and know that I'm not going to call a huge bet if I have nothing. If he has a monster hand, he makes a small bet into the pot in the hopes that I have something to call with. If he has nothing, a shove on the river may win him the hand. Unfortunately for him, this was the trap I was setting.
So there you have it, hand analysis and then what I was really thinking as the hand played out. You have the option to simply ask questions of what to do, or ask if your thought process was correct in how you played out the hand. Either way, the forum is here to provide helpful input.

I think one reason no one has posted is when we win, we played it right, and when we lose, we still played it right, but were unlucky or the other player played wrong or bad.
ciao for now

And thats why some players will never get better, lol. I win lots of hands that I played badly and lose lots that I played well. Always looking to analyze my play and get better. Hopefully some people will take the opportunity to get better.

What do you use - poker office or tracker or some other software? If you have used more than one which is better? Currently I just play on my own and just a couple of tables at a time.

Generally I just do self analysis of my play using my own spreadsheets, mostly just tracking wins and losses. I use cardplayer's poker analyst software to track my omaha and SNG play and PokerOffice to track my holdem play.I was using the live tracker from PO, but find that it doesn't work on BetMost and I prefer to trust my own judgement anyway. In addition to those electronic forms, I discuss various situations and hands with a very good friend of mine who is also big into online poker.
