Get out of here!!!

Yesterday I did get an Aha-experience. How wonderful isn't that?? It feel so good, when everything is so clear.... that you already know but you don't get or understand suddenly gets a name. This is so obvious. Maybe it would have been easier if I had read about it in swedish? I have learned to count outs and actually understand what it is. I have often heard about having X outs... Wft does it mean?? Really, I didn't get it.... well, I have read about it and I know it is good to know when you are counting out odds. The thing about oddd will come soon,.. but really, do I need odds that much? I was thinking more about what kind of cards I have versus the card on the boards and the posibility to get the cards I am missing. Some how I often have a feeling about what to come, but still I need to check incase my feeling is wrong or correct of course. I don't know.. maybe it is good to know how to count odds, but it takes such time. For me it is more.. what cards do I need to complete the hand. Yes, my middle name is chaser. I can fold too.. before turn and river sometimes. Now when I know about outs... I will think one more time about it if I am going to call... if I have the time to think. Wink

Outs

As all know there are 52 cards on the deck.

My hand, lets take an easy one:

The flop:

Ok. I have 76 and the flop shows 2 3 4, ok.. there is a risk that someone has flush on the hand, almost.  Never mind, we will know about that very soon.  Because the round is cheap I think we should just call, because there can be some one with A5.  I need 5 to complete my hand... we know there is totally four different kind of fives. Because I miss a 5 to complete my hand, I have totally 4 outs.. which means those four fives I miss. If there is some one with A5, there can be harder to get the cards. But with this kind of flop the 5 use to show up. The round is cheap anyway... let's see. (This only for the best hand, sure we can count for one or two pair or or trips, but it is over course, same goes for the next one.)

K showed up, we still miss 5 and we still have 4 outs. Next round is cheap... let's see..

Bingo!!!! We did get our beloved 5 and no flush... the pot is our! Laughing Money mouth

I guees no one had something, because all folded.

************************************************

Let's try something harder, still my hand, but another one - of course!

The flop

Oh my, flush draw... how irritating isn't this for others? Wink Ok, what do we need to complete our hand, hmm..... we need hearts to begin with. It is 13 hearts on the deck. We have two hearts in the hand and two hearts on the table. That is 4 hearts we can't get. Fast counting 13-4=9 right? That means, to get flush we have 9 outs, pretty good chance. Right?  There is 7 and 8 on the table too... can we connect it to our 4 on the hand? hmm... lets see... 4 5 6 7 8 ... we miss 5 and 6 to get a straight. Because we already has been counting the outs for the heart section we can leave 5h and 6h out. The means we have  5c 6c, 5s 6s and 5d and 6d that we need to complet our hand. Those 5 and 6 is 6 outs. And we had 9 outs from the hearts. 9 + 6 =13 outs. Am I right? I hope... It is limit table... let see what turn has to offer. Jaja, we can as well raise a little.. I think!

The turn

Jaja, turn gave us a 6. Let's count all over again. Still 9 outs for the hearts. To make a straight we only need 5 to connect with our 4. We know there is four of the fives. Because we have counted 5h already in those 9 out for the heart section... there are only 3 others..... 9+3= 12 outs. Pretty good chance to take home this hand. Any kind of heart or a 5.. two good hands. Because there is no raise.....we go for it, even if there is a raise we go for it.. it is limit. Let's what river give us. I would guess on a heart. Surprised We can make a new raise here I think.... I am sure! Wink

River

Bingo!!!! The pot is our...

Let see what hand we sucked out on:

Awwww.... sad sad sad!!! Not a very good hand anyway! Innocent

outs are not complicated, to count...
whats more complicated are implied odds and reverse implied odds and equity.

Mostly use the rule of 2 and 4, and you'll be OK! 2*#outs= 1 card to come, 4*#outs=2cards tocome (flop).

I totally agree...but there are people who has a slow brain (read fritzson)... But thanks for the rule, but I don't understand that to much.. can you explain more in detail? where comes 2 and 4 from? you have also typed flop, is it on the flop and turn and river to come or flop to come? Outs was complicated enought for me... odds is even more complicated.. but I am working on it. ;o) Math was not my biggest subject... ;o) For my skill outs is good enough right now... hehe...

And today I have a headache.. nothing in my brain works today. Everything needs to be explained like it was a 5 year old child... :oP
